The top fathers day gifts, year after year, are going to be the same; tickets to a major sporting event, some expensive new gadget or a hardware upgrade or some pricey car accessory. That means that if you don’t have a decent paying job then all you can get your dad for fathers day is a pizza. The good thing is dad won’t mind because he’ll know you can’t afford that stuff, he wouldn’t like you to kill yourself trying to make money just to buy him something that’s expensive and also because at least he’ll get to eat the pizza.

Dads may not care a lot about what they get for fathers day but it would be nice to get your dad a good gift for a change, you’d feel like a better son/ daughter and giving dad a treat once in a while makes you feel great. The challenge is finding a gift that you can afford, one that dad will like and one that’s actually good enough for a fathers day gift.

Let’s say your dad (like most dads) likes sports a lot. It would be easier and cheaper to find a gift related to his favorite sport as opposed to his favorite team. Anything that has a logo or a team name on it is going to cost you more and if it doesn’t, like say a mug with your dad’s favorite team’s name, it won’t make a very good fathers day gift. Your dad probably has enough mugs, in fact, he probably has a favorite mug and if he’s a fan of any team, it’s likely that he already has the basic fan merchandise like shirts, caps, mugs etc.

If you want to give your dad a good gift, you’ll have to consider what his interests are; there really isn’t any way around it but you don’t necessarily need to buy something very expensive. Pens and mugs with logos were popular at a time but now you can find practically anything in a sports theme even fathers day fruit baskets, or fruit bouquets; try going for one of those. Fruit bouquets have a particularly huge variety; they’re arranged in sports themed containers featuring everything from basketballs to racing cars. Edible gifts are always a great option and fruit bouquets are even better since it’ll be summer and dad will love all the fresh chocolate covered fruit.
